Smithyart is an on-line gallery showcasing the work of Paul Preston and Jean Thomas.

 Paul Preston was born in Leeds. He practiced architecture for just two years before realising that it just wasn't for him.He is a self taught jeweller whose combination of fine workmanship and imaginative ideas make him one of the most distinctive of Contemporary British Jewellers today. He has an international reputation with work in both public and private collections and has shown in Britain, Germany, Luxembourg, Spain and the U.S.A.. His proudest achievement is having a "piece" in the permanent collection at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.

Jean Thomas is from Pembrokeshire and spends much of her time painting the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. She studied Fine Art at Newport, Monmouthshire and Bristol. She has worked free lance designing for the stage, running a puppet theatre and making woollen cloth and jewellery. Jean, too is an artist with an international reputation having exhibited in Britain, Germany, Austria and has work in private collections in Australia, Spain and the U.S.A.  As well as painting the coast she is also known for her portraiture and paintings of the farming community. At the moment she is working on a series of sculptures in stone and glass.

From time to time we will also show the work of  Guest Artists, both British and International.
