Some considerable time before that Exhibition in Oxford (1975), Preston had asked Valerie Stewart, the Deputy Director there, "Where next to show his work?".
She replied, "Electrum, in London".
First contact with Barbera Cartlidge at Electrum, was a wake up call for Preston. So was the work in the glass cases.
He returned to Penzance.
Inspired by a strong desire to "show that woman just what he could really do", he got cracking!
